![]() Part of what made Savitar a great comic book villain is that Wally West (the Flash at the time) knew he didn’t just have to stop the so-called God of Speed. ![]() It showed up when Barry Allen and his teammates first met the villain, then again to ensure a logical explanation for his return in “ The Wrath of Savitar.” Otherwise … nothing. The Flash did use the cult angle from the comics, but it sure didn’t stick around for very long. With full acknowledgment that there are still five episodes left and there could still be some exciting developments yet to come, here are three reasons Savitar has been a bummer. Instead, season 3 is suffering a bit because of his status as the big bad. ![]() The costume and design people came up with an awesome look for Savitar on The Flash, so his presence on TV should be a blessing. Though he did indeed run fast like the Flash himself and a bunch of other heroes and villains, both his origin - a third world test pilot downed behind enemy lines after a close brush with the Speed Force - and the way he used his powers were unique.Ī cult of followers and super-speed ninjas? Yeah, that’s pretty cool. In the pages of DC Comics, Savitar was a pretty cool, original creation when Mark Waid and Oscar Jiminez brought him to life in the mid-’90s.
